Having seen the play a number of times through the years and seen the movie a number of times as well and owning a copy -I love this movie :D It is a story not heard or seen elsewhere that needed to be said. Overcoming obstacles in life is not new, being triumphant and going far beyond expectations left to our own devices -is rare and celebrated in the end when one comes to know about it. Happily I've seen in real life Latinas who have made me so proud of who they are and the accomplishments in life they have achieved. This movie is one of those movies, coming to a great success where one was not expected -and I'm sure when Josefina Lopez was writing her first draft of the play, not realizing her script would be converted into a movie that well deserved exposure to the whole wide world. Thank you Josefina for writing such a beautiful story, thank you for everyone who has been and is attached to this story in one way or another. Congratulations to you all and many blessings :D
